Thanks for the memories…

It’s official…Today is my first day as a non-Stampin’ Up! demonstrator after over 19 years. It was very tempting to stick it out longer, but honestly I haven’t even opened an order I placed almost a month ago. I think that’s a pretty big sign that I need to move on as I start this new chapter of my life without my mom and kids needing constant attention yet needing to figure out what to do with homes, possessions, traveling and a potential change in careers. And James is hoping for a couple of cute puppies the second we figure all of that out (actually I am, too, but I don’t have puppy videos in my video feed like he does)!

If anyone does need a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator for help, I highly recommend my two downlines: Juli Raphael and Nancy Yako. They would be happy to assist you as long as they are still participating. You can easily look them up on the Stampinup.com website.

As I have said before, I am grateful for all of your support in the past and admit that I do miss stamping with wonderful friends. If I can be of assistance in the future, do contact me at junelucal@gmail.com. Thanks for the memories!

Is it time yet?

Can you believe I have been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator for 19 years last month? As you may know, this was a VERY hard summer and fall for me with my mother’s hospice care and passing. I obviously needed to make her a priority over my business. Now that she is gone, I have lots of decisions to make including whether to continue with my stamping business as it was, change directions, or stop completely. Since my momentum is gone, I think it will be very difficult to go back to exactly what I had been doing, but I DO have a ton of supplies and tools and definitely enjoy making beautiful paper-crafted things!!

I need to fulfill my $300 sales quota by Dec 31 (or Jan 31 technically since I have a month grace period) in order to stay a demonstrator. I just wanted to let YOU know in case you wanted to order something (click here or on the hostess code in the upper right corner of this page (colored pencil picture)). I’m not ready to jump back in with both feet at this point, but every little bit helps keep me going a little longer! Thank you!!

And, as always, feel free to email me with questions: june@youcanstamp.com. Happy Stamping!

My Mom, Joan M. Greig

March 28, 1937 – August 31, 2023

Joan Greig, 86, of Aurora, OH, passed away on August 31, 2023, supported by loved ones, after a brief but difficult illness.

Joan grew up in Lakewood, OH, but spent most of her life in Aurora, OH, raising three daughters (and a stepdaughter on weekends) as well as being very involved in her community and Christian Science faith.  At different times in her life, she was a professional secretary, elementary teacher, seamstress, financial planner assistant, newspaper stringer, and small business co-owner with her husband (both a specialized industrial glass business and selling Christmas trees from their farm).  She had too many interests to name, but loved to keep active mentally and physically and was civic- and environmentally-minded.  She had a passion for travel, visiting all 50 states and many places all over the world.  She also was a devoted Christian Scientist, serving her Hudson, OH, church in almost every capacity, writing articles for national publications, and taking enough Bible courses throughout her lifetime to equate with attending seminary.

Joan was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Angela Cook, husband Claude Greig, and daughter Karen Greig.  She is survived by her sister Ginny (Bob) Henry of Timnath, CO; stepdaughter Tina (Chuck) Blair of Rowlett, TX; daughter June (James) Lucal of Aurora, OH; daughter Laura (Troy) Vermeil of Loveland, OH; nine grandchildren (Eli, Colleen, Bridget, Ivy, Ben, Matthew, Louise, Wes, Evie) and four great grandchildren.  A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 5 p.m., at The Church in Aurora.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Moebius Nature Center, the National Parks Conservation Association, or Crystal Lake Camps (a Christian Science youth camp in Hughesville, PA).

Memories and condolences can be made on either of these obituary sites:

This is my mom who many of you knew as a fellow stamper and honestly my inspiration from the beginning when my family made Christmas cards as kids to go with our annual newsletter. She will be missed!!!

Hey everyone…

After almost 19 years as a demonstrator, I made a big decision to back off of Stampin’ Up! activities. I don’t think this will affect many people, but as of now, I am not going to do any more YouTube Lives or in-person events (except the last Stamp Club get-together on Aug 5). That includes tonight’s scheduled YouTube Live and Saturday’s stamp camp.

My mom has fallen twice recently and had another episode Sunday, and I’m the only daughter nearby. Mom has been urging me to quit this and my library trust job for years, but I’ve resisted. I’m not necessarily quitting Stampin’ Up! since I have dear friends and a huge investment of supplies and tools, but I’ve been swimming upstream for quite awhile. I’m tired and still have other streams to manage or explore. I’m just going to stop paddling so hard in this one and go with the current so to speak for as long as I can afford to.

I will still be here for at least 6 months or more to order Stampin’ Up! supplies through as well as for support and advice if you need it. I may even from time to time post news, cards and videos as I can. I’m hoping that I can figure out how to sell the plethora of cards I’ve already made and can make in the future with my giant stash of supplies. Perhaps I can finally even manage a charity endeavor like Random Acts of Kindness or cards to those who need cheering up. Depending on the reward SU! offers for 20-Year Demonstrators, I could try to make it another year to earn that, too. I just won’t have the recurring deadlines and lack of sleep (for this job anyway…)

I would like to thank everyone who supported me by placing an order, watching a video or live broadcast, subscribing to notifications, attending events, and much more. You are appreciated and are missed already. 🙂

Happy 4th of July!

Tune in…I think I may let this activity go. Too much going on and not much interest apparently! Feel free to prove me wrong! 🙂
